The Sakyong has written a text called Shambhala Household. This text
is a powerful way to work with the challenge of integrating the
teachings and practices we are given with the mundane yet profound
activities of our daily lives.
This program includes a video lung for Shambhala Household and
receiving the actual text. It's purpose is to bring together
Shambhalians from many different ages, paths, and demographics to
share and explore their experiences and inspirations about being
Shambhala Household will now be the first text that practitioners will
be able receive from the lineage on the Shambhala Path, which is a
significant moment. We all share the experience of being householders
in many styles and forms, and we all now have this opportunity to
bring Shambhala principles even more deeply into our daily lives and
This program is open to any current Shambhala member who has completed
Rigden weekend or equivalent.
Faradee Rudy coordinates the Alumni Program at the International
School of Brussels, in Brussels, Belgium and has worked for other
not-for-profit educational organizations for many years, most recently
as the Executive Director of the Center for Living Peace in Irvine,
California. She was the Development Director at Shambhala Mountain
Center and coordinated numerous programs during her time there,
including the visit of His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama in 2006.
Faradee lived at Shambhala Mountain Center from 2004-2008.
Faradee has been a meditation practitioner since 2000, an authorized
teacher in Shambhala since 2010, and has taught at numerous retreats
and meditation centers and other organizations in both North America
and Europe. She serves as the Deputy Minister of the Pillar of Economy
of Shambhala and as the Lead Emissary for the Shambhala Household
Faradee is also an Interior Designer (www.faradeerudy.com) and writes
a blog called Meaningful By Design (www.meaningfulbydesign.life). Her
never-ending quest is to create elegance, social harmony, joy, and
primarily meaning in the world.
Faradee was born in Whitehorse in the Yukon Territory and grew up in
northern Saskatchewan, Canada, but has also lived in Brazil, Japan,
the United States, and now Belgium. She is proud to call herself a
Citizen of the World.
